In a fun article written by Liana Hayles titled 10 Movies With Iconic Architecture in a Starring Role, she looks at architecture as characters in movies. With David Lean capturing the imagination with the mastery of location-as-character in his movies, it wasn’t a stretch to find the selection of iconic buildings as characters.
Two that stand out from Ms Hayles list are the Chemosphere House in “Body Double”
…and the Bradbury Building used in “Blade Runner”
There are many others that come to mind but as it turns out most were built for the movies – either in fact or now-a-says through computer generation.
Still, the use of iconic architecture will continue to drive the imagination of movie makers and goers!
